Chinese New Year of the Rabbit 2011

It is here, The year of the Rabbit in the Chinese New Year. What better way to celebrate in art class than painting Rabbits on rice paper from China.  The 4th grade students were taught the proper way to hold the brush. I used a pattern from a Walter Foster book as a sample. The results are amazing.

  3. Fourth graders? Their works are super...I have a set of brushes and ink blocks...can't even remember what's in the kit...it came from Lillian Vernon back in the 80's...I had great intentions, but never did any thing with it...I think your simple but expressive examples might jump start me. After all, I took Elizbeth's challenge with the idea that I might try new techniques. this is a really great post.
